I'm thinking of ditching my Sky subscription for Freesat. As I understand it I can cancel my Sky subscription and still use my existing Sky box and dish to access the Freesat, but still need to pay Sky £10.25 a month if I want to record TV, is that right? Has anyone done this?
Based on my watching habits I think I'd be better off using the money to pay for a LoveFilm rental and renting films through the AppleTV.

afraid I don't have first-hand knowledge. I have a sky satellite dish, from previous occupant, and freesat built into my TV which works grandly. Not sure about the nuances of sky+ boxes, and i know it doesn't answer your question but hopes it helps a little.
