Hi All and Happy new year. I have a MacBook running 10.7.2 and it seems to get down the battery in no time. I'm sure I used to run it for days without needing to charge it and the cooling fan seems to be on a lot more recently. The Battery status says it's at 95% Healthy and 488 cycles.
Would it be 10.7.2 or the battery health that is draining the power?

Morning, and happy new year. I'm not sure of the health of the battery, and I'm no expert, but it sounds like yours is fine and in line with Apple's expectations (see www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html), The obvious things to look for are any new software that has been installed and there has been chatter on the interwebs about graphics issues in 10.7 that has depleted battery life. Standard recommendation appears to be to perform an SMC reset - see here for how to do that support.apple.com/kb/HT3964This may sort out the fan too.

Thanks Mike,
I have been surfing the internet for about an hour now and battery charge is still good. The difference I'm not looking at any movie sites or graphic hungry info.
I have performed a SMC reset but I'm not sure it will help.
I think it's down to 10.7 as you say.

If the fan is running a lot, it could be clogged up with dust and fluff. Laptop vents are small and easily blocked - a good blow out with compressed air will do wonders.
