I collect images from the Astronomy Picture of the Day site. I've got over 150 now, and I also use them as screensaver fodder. That's my 15in MacBook Pro. My 20in ACD is a rather more dull but photographically sensitive neutral grey.

I'm using GrabUp now, for quick screenshots. It's a little prefPane, that uploads the image to a server, and gives it a URL.

I hope that worked... I took this photo on Utila Island in Honduras on an expedition into the rainforest... But that's another story for another time. I used Picasa to upload the pic, then just used the image ink thing in the post screen.

I guess I should explain that it is the church season of Ephiphany when we celebrate the arrival of the Magi - or three wise men as they are traditionally known! Click for full size - Uploaded with plasq's SkitchTim

apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap080425.htmlAn image by Greg Morgan of the Sierra Remote Observatories. It's M86 in the Virgo Cluster. Having this kind of desktop image reminds one how insignificant we all are in the infinite majesty of the universe. With a nod of the head to the late great Douglas Adams, it helps to give one a real sense of perspective.

I can't afford to have a real sense of perspective. I've only got one head!

it helps to give one a real sense of perspective. Carl Sagan asked NASA to turn the Voyager spacecraft around to show what Earth looked like. It looked like A Pale Blue DotA great man Turning AwayCat

The long alcohol-free desert of Lent is over tomorrow. I celebrate the coming season of Easter with this picture of Resurrection Peak in Alaska courtesy of DCSL on Flickr: Click for full size - Uploaded with plasq's SkitchAlleluia! Christ is Risen.
