Well, Apple did it - with a day to spare! iTunes Plus is here, allowing you to buy DRM free tracks. For me, I was able to update 115 tracks

I see the watermark/personal info issue is starting to die down a little, but wondered; what possible use case can this ever be an issue?
If you download DRM free tracks, put on YOUR macs, YOUR mp3 players YOUR whatever, does it really matter if YOUR info is on them? Now, if you were going to put on a p2p system then it might be an issue.
I suppose a couple of problems could arise though (1) personal info easy to spoof and the onus would probably be on you to prove you did not upload that track (2) you ipod gets stolen, loads of drm free stuff on it and the theif uploads to p2p - again onus on you to prove it was not you.
