Can I make a plea for including Allister Simms as a British Icon.
After all he appears in the St. British Mac introduction and is truly a national treasure. I remember seeing him on TV in the 70s playing the appeal judge in A. J. P. Hebert's "Misleading Cases" a comedy series where obscure points of law were ridiculed. Like the case of a Prostitute who payed her taxes, the prosecution was of the Inland Revenue living off immoral earnings. Or the case where it was proved that a slug was a wild animal, on the grounds that it wasn't domesticated.
He also appeared in many Ealing Comedies, like St. Trinnians and A Christmas Carol.
