Hi all! d**n you Will for doing this - now I'll have yet another distraction that will mean I get no real work done! I installed the new 802.11n Airport Extreme Base Station. See new post for info on it.

I've been using the new Airport Extreme Base Station and it works very well as a basic network device. Note, it does not support Windows' NTFS hard drives nor RAID. Also, if you are in Ireland or other countries not restricted in the use of "wide channels", you can get the 5x speed versus 802.11n. In the UK, as you cannot use wide channels, you only get 2.5x.
To avoid other machines joining your 802.11n network and dragging down your speed, make the device only broadcast in 5Ghz "802.11n only" mode.
Also, another downside to the device is it does not support Gigabit ethernet.
