As mentioned elsewhere, I am in the market for a decent, stable home accounts package - preferably UK localised. Access to my online bank would be handy too. I understand and think in double-entry bookkeeping which is why many of the more Mac friendly programmes don't work for me.
I'm currently using iBank which can, at least, produce a rudimentary budget, but it is almost impossible to view expenditure by category and the user interface is not intuitive. And the way it handles split transactions drives me up the wall - so much so that last time I had what in a manual ledger would have been a very simple transaction, I ended up having to create an entry with a nil balance just to assign the correct amounts to the correct categories.
Any suggestions?

not sure if it will meet your needs, but DO$H Cashbook (which was purchased by MYOB a while back and is now hidden away on the Mamut (UK distributors for MYOB) website at www.mamut.com/uk/dosh/ could be worth a look. Its a bussiness accounting package which uses cash basis accounting
