I use itunes as my main music player. Until recently I had an external sound card connected to a Beresford DAC which in turn is linked to my amp. I am now on the look out for a new external soundcard.
Anyone else have a nice audio set up?
I realise mp3 aren't audio gold but they are good enough for me.....

Blimey, Cat That's amazing!
What do you produce with it?
Alan.

Blimey, Cat That's amazing! What do you produce with it? Alan. Not much. Mrs Cat is a trained singer. The kit is now mostly used in her role of singing teacher. In the past I ran a Karaoke and much of the kit came from that. Some of the kit is from when she sang professionally too. I don't have much time for being "creative" now my only real involvement with music is as sound and light man at concerts we put on for students and my ongoing battle to learn how to play tenor sax.

I'm no real audiophile, it has to be said. I know what I like, though.
In the Bat Cave (where I, um, "work" for a living) I stream my iTunes to the iMac (2008 3.06GHz) from my MacBook Pro. More than adequate sound from the iMac speakers, I have to say.
When at home, I have a pair of £30 JBL speakers (ones with their own amp) which get plugged into the MBP audio out socket if I'm in desktop mode with the extra screen and peripherals attached. If I'm on the sofa in lazy git mode, I use a pair of Sennheiser lightweight headphones - if I'm bothered to listen to anything at all.

I like my Sennheiser PX100's - cheap but really good (although I'm no audiophile as I actually quite like Apple's crappy freebies that come with the iPods).

I find the iMac is fine for me in my bedroom if my wife and I want to listen to the same music.

Recently got Logitech Z4 2.1 system - lovely in white and goes with the (white) iMac perfectly - sub woofer capable of being very Bassy so keep it tuned down. Can crack it out pretty loud though when I'm on my tod ;o)
very pleased with price/performance versus the Harman Kardon sound sticks
