Out now - anyone else surprised? I was expecting Snow Leopard at the Developers Conference, but they have said it won't be launched there & brought out what seems to be a pretty massive bugfix. Anyone installed it yet? Any problems? Tim

Yes, and no.
I expect Snow Leopard to be given a release date and builds to seeded to developers at the WWDC.

Anyone installed it yet? Any problems? Tim I have installed it on my G5 iMac. The install seemed to go like a dream. The computer seems faster and so far I have no problems. I am waiting to see if it has fixed my Wi Fi issue. So far I have had not a single drop out but it is early days. CC

I got totally bitten in the arse by 10.5.6 so I'm in no rush! Will, two things to do. 1) Complete backup using SuperDuper! (my preferred choice) or Carbon Copy Cloner. 2) Don't use Software Update - Go and download the Combo Update from here. The Combo Update is generally regarded as a better way to update. It's a big download but I feel it's worth it.

I did a Super Duper just in case. Aaaah, but did you test the SuperDuper backup and if it would boot up via firewire or just trust it..... imho - very much worth testing the back up first... just in case ;o)

install went ok here seemed to give back the battery status optimization drop down on my macbook that i think was cruelly taken away from me in 10.5.6 Seems i spoke too soon after installing 10.5.7. I began having trouble with some of my USB Drives unmounting themselves. Usually whilst transferring files. I reinstalled Leopard and 10.5.7 and it still was failing with my drives. So i backed up everything and reinstalled Leopard and the 10.5.6 combo update which actually lets me use my USB Drives EDIT: After cruising the Apple support forums for a while it sounds like there's a general USB fault with 10.5.7 since it not only affects USB Drives but printers as well. Also some Firewire Drives and WiFi

I am getting a problem with my attached Firewire drive. The CPU goes up to 100% when it is attached. I have been a bit busy recently so I have not been able to trouble shoot it. I wonder what has happened to "it just works"
