I got an Aluminium keyboard with my iMac, and there are some buttons on it that I have no idea what they do or what they are for. The one that is a rectangle with an 'x' through it on the left, above the 7 key and to the left of the '=' key. Is this supposed to be firmer/spongier than the other keys? What is it for?
What is the difference between the two keys below F15 and the two below F14? They seem to do the same job.
What the hell is §? ;D

Rectangle with x through it is Clear (as in clear the contents in the calculator app). It's no spongier/firmer on my keyboard than other keys.
Keys below F14 are Home and End while below F15 are Page Up and Page Down.
§ is used in some countries when quoting legal sections.

From Wikipedia: The section sign, also called the "section symbol" or "squiggly", is a typographical character used mainly to refer to a particular section of a document, such as a legal code. It is frequently used along with the pilcrow (¶), or paragraph sign. When duplicated, as §§, it is read as the plural "sections" (§§ 13–21), much as "pp." (pages) is the plural of "p." (page) or "SS" for "saints". For an effect comparable to the contemporary use of bold type, early scribes would double stroke letters, hence the sign was developed from a double stroked letter S. I always wondered myself but never got round to looking it up. same for the tilde (~), which has an interesting wiki if you're into linguistics at all... BB

Well, now I know what it is. What I don't know is why such an obscure character is on the British layout of the Mac keyboard. There must be thousands of characters that have more right to be there.

It's no spongier/firmer on my keyboard than other keys. My Clear key is spongier than every other key. Normal keys kind of 'click', and are quite 'sharp' if you know what I mean, while the Clear button is spongier. Weird.

Top left of the keypad. OOOh, a button I have never used and have no idea what it is used for. Funny how I have not even noticed it before.

I use mine when I'm punching numbers into Calculator.app and need to clear the screen.
