I paid £5.99 to upgrade my iPod Touch.
At least the YouTube application now works!
Apart from that, it's a bit... meh, TBH.

I just tried out the new "Find my iPhone" with MobileMe - just brilliant! ;D
Everything's a bit quicker. Loving the landscape mode in mail at last, copy/paste and have sent my first MMS - I'm glad they've taken their time to get it right 'cos it all works really smoothly.
now..... when can I upgrade to the 3.0 S......... ;o)

Yes, I've just tried it too. I would say it was approximately 3 metres out!
I lost my previous iPhone on a train. It would have been fun to try and work out where it was.
Oh well.
Otherwise, the search function is as accurate as these things ever are - ie, nowhere near as good as the hype suggests they will be, but OK. I haven't tried a voice memo, but if that had been a 'must have' I would have bought one of the myriad apps which do that already. The landscape keyboard is better, but still isn't universal - for example it doesn't seem to work on the search page!
The big disappointment for me is that the Voice control feature is only going to work with iPhone 3GS when it is released. Why is it so hard to implement voice dialling? I had it on my old Sony Ericsson and it really is the only way to use a phone safely in the car. Press button on bluetooth headset… Speak clearly… press button again… turn down radio… press button again… speak clearly… have brief conversation with Gran in Australia… press button again. Press button again… speak even more clearly… hold conversation with intended victim. Easy!
