Hi there, I'm Arron , I discovered the wonders of Mac back in 2003 when I bought a 3rd gen Ipod then in 2005 a Mac Mini.. over the last 5 years I have amassed a small collection of 3 ipods 2 iphones, an iBook, I still have the original mac Mini and a 20in iMac.
I can't believe that i have only just discovered British Mac...... what a great Podcast (& website!!). I've started to listen to the old shows and loving them.
Keep up the great work!!
Arron.

Hello this is Alan, I am English but I have lived in France for 35 years. I bought my first Mac in 1993 when I started my own company, mainly because most printing companies use them. I still have the iBook and the G3 that I bought later and they are still used occasionally. My iMac is great but I still think that the old Claris Works had the best drawing application ever. I am very happy to have found you. Alan

Peut-être nous devons nous un autre fil pour les amateurs du Mac Britaniques francophones? M. le Chat?
Oh doesn't "M. le Chat" sound like a Bond villain?

I don't understand a word of the above, but I expect it says welcome to the forum. If it does may I add my welcome to it.

Using the Systran Translator widget on my Dashboard... Perhaps do we owe another wire for the amateurs of Mac Britaniques French-speaking? Mr. the Cat?I think it translates to: Maybe we should have a thread for French-speaking members of British Mac?Stupid translation.

Dear All, My Name is Iain Mitchell I live in Hampton Hill I'm Married with one cheeky young girl of 3 Maddie I wanted to say hello again because Will is making such an effort to make up for lost Episodes during his apparently being busy! That it only feels right to give something back to an old friend!! I work as an film and TV Editor on various programmes but hopefully most of you know of charlie Brookers Screenwipe and Newswipe on BBC4! I first started using mac back in 1993 on the old Quadra Mac's and I was the second person to buy the 1st Generation ipod at the islington MAC show back in 2001(Which i Still have) I remember being the coolest kid on the block for a year or so but then everyone got one! Recently my old G5 PPC Mac Pro said good bye and I went straight to the Mac refurbished store and decided to rid myself of cables and monitors and got the all singing and dancing iMac 27-inch 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 and saved myself over £300.00 it doesn't make a sound and works wonders editing using either FCP or AVID As the recession has hit my industry hard I am turning my hand to other things, my wife and a few others setting up a new web site for new mums and dads giving parents helpful advise via the medium of Video for free with over 4000 online when it launches in october a holding page is up www.imama.tvWe are in need of iphone app developers so please get in touch iainmitchell@me.com I'm also setting up a service for anyone with home video footage that requires a more skilled editor and turns you're boring mountains of video into something that is fun, watchable and maybe make you cry! Please get in touch if interested Lastly I have being using Visual Hub as an easy way to convert DVD etc to any format! sadly they are no longer making it can anyone suggest a software package as good and easy to use It's good to hear you again Will, keep up the good work and will there be beers this year??? Good morning All, My Names Jonathan Cowie. I am a Professional Photographer and Mac user unlike most photographers I use almost exclusively film and film cameras I think I was thrown into a cryogenic container in 1986 and will not use any camera made after that period. Seriously though I have commercial reasons for shooting film and the way I do mainly because film is far more tactile and generally looks better printed. Also there is a growing love of nostalgia amonst the human race esp. old farts like me. Well thats that then I am formally introduced and thanks for having me. JC

Lastly I have being using Visual Hub as an easy way to convert DVD etc to any format! sadly they are no longer making it can anyone suggest a software package as good and easy to use You could try videomonkey.org/Video_Monkey/About.html which is a FREE replacement for VisualHub according to the developer. However at the moment it only supports iTunes formats

Will,
My God just realised that I have been on here for years and never introduced myself.
My name is Simon Watmough and I work for a global IT services company designing/installing corporate e-mail and related security systems. And out of work I work hard at maintaining my grumpy persona
I HAVE to use Windoze in work but am saved by my 17" iMac and and various Linux machines at home.
Simon
