So the iTunes Genius feature is here. I have just started using it and I love it.

Me too. I upgraded my iPod Touch to get the Genius feature on there. I've used it non-stop ever since. I now listen to loads of tracks that I'd forgotten I love, and that I would never have bothered to build into a playlist manually. Now I just pick an initial track to suit my mood and then let Genius entertain me thereafter.
It really is a Genius feature. It's like having a brand new iPod. It's breathed new life into the whole listening experience.
I also downloaded the latest AppleTV update yesterday and it has now got Genius too. Genius!
That'll be fantastic for parties.

I used it a bit when it first appeared and it wasn't great - I'd hope that now it's better. With a lot of people using it, it can only improve.

I tried it last night - after resisting because I thought it was a gimmick.
The first few tracks I tried it couldn't find a match for, so I picked some of the more mainstram stuff and I have to admit it isn't too bad.

Sorry but this Feature gets a Meh. Rating from me as I rarely listen to music. Gave it a go when it first appeared the sidebar suggesting that i buy tracks that are already in my library albeit not from iTunes and suggesting some bands that share names but are entirely different genres. However the playlist function does work and is good for those odd few times when i run out of podcasts and audiobooks

Well Mattiles, I can get you don't really grock how grazzny tolchocks the Genius feature is if you don't listen to a lot of music.
I spend hours at my iMac and can get pretty bored with my music selection but Genius has been making up some really great playlists for me - I've been listening to stuff I'd forgotten I had and loving it! In fact, I'm getting well behind in my podcasts becuae I'm listening to so much more music.
Anybody out there that hasn't tried it really should do.
Cheers - BB

Like iTunes itself, Genius is great as long as you're in a vaguely mainstream rock kind of mood. It seems to choke on some of my more 'off the wall' selections. It certainly doesn't like folk or jazz as a starting point, but interestingly will include both in playlists if you start somewhere else. My favourite sequence so far has to be from The Cure's "Three" from Seventeen Seconds to "Work This Out" from High School Musical 2 (only on my computer for my seven year old - honest ) to Jocko Homo by Devo. Genius indeed

Anybody out there that hasn't tried it really should do. Oh dear … Genius is nothing of the sort. If you want to hear long forgotten gems from your music collection use random shuffle by track. Genius does nothing for me at all that random shuffle doesn't. Mark

Starts off crap 'Genius found nothing etc.' but I tried it just now and suddenly it's pretty impressive.

That will teach me to select a Beatles track. Who? But - but - but... weren't The Beatles bigger than Jesus? I tried the Genius, but got fed up with all the recommendations for tracks I could purchase at the Store. I don't purchase anything at the Store. I prefer to spend my money on silver discs that I can sort alphabetically, and gaze at lovingly. Like Mark says, if you want discover hidden nooks in your collection, just shuffle by track.

But you can still use Genius without being bothered by Store recommendations. Just hide/turn off the Genius Sidebar. Genius playlists are so much better than random track shuffling (notwithstanding the aforementioned Beatles licensing issue) Alan.

But - but - but... weren't The Beatles bigger than Jesus? And aren't they nearly as old?
