Sorry about missing out saying anything relating to checking / removing / disabling QuickTime components & multimedia software (just re-read the whole thread - and thought it had been mentioned by one of us, but it hadn't). Luckily you did it without us!I don't know if you want to add any more components to QuickTime having only just got the sound working again, but Perian caters for quite a lot of the codecs which are missing natively.
