My delivery due date is now blank on my order status? What does this mean? This means that Apple have already got enough of your money and are refusing to sell you any more products

3 Days and counting ( is it me or is this week really dragging?) anyway, thought I would share the iPad apps I have already got in place. Click for full size - Uploaded with plasq's SkitchClick for full size - Uploaded with plasq's SkitchI would have expected the iWork apps to be available for purchase, but they are not yet. I would have purchased them ready. One less thing to do when setting the iPad up.

I still can't see a real point or permanent place for an iPad in my life, but more and more lately I've thought: If I had an iPad I could do that now... Most things I've thought about can also be done on an iPhone though, and I want one of those more than an iPad.

I would rate the iPhone over an iPad because I leave the house a lot. It is everything* you need in your pocket. The iPad is everything* you need in your briefcase. OR Everything you have on your computer just a bit easier and nicer to use. *Yeah, I know it is not "everything

DSG have done a deal with Apple so that iPads will be available at some PC World, Currys, and Dixons stores on launch day this Friday.
Shoppers there are likely to get them before some people who pre-ordered from Apple (which, I imagine, would be a tad irritating)

It depends whether you live a life where you carry everything in your pockets, or whether you carry a briefcase/ bag with you most of the time. My problem is that I lead two lives - one of which is pockets and the other is a briefcase. I need both devices, but can I afford them both? Anyway, I'm still waiting until after Friday so I can go down to the Arndale and have a play to decide which is the optimum model for me. I probably will get a v1 iPad, but I'm not rushing in to it.

^ If you get a 1G iPad, when you upgrade to 2G I'll buy your old one for a tenner. You think that's a joke? I really would give you a whole ten pounds for it. And I'd pay postage on top!

You've got to be kidding. My original iPhone 8Gb - which is still going strong btw in Mrs Stomps' capable hands - is already reaching the antique levels of £150 on eBay! My 3G is only a few quid more. And that's only after 2 years. In 10 years I'll be able to sell it - no longer working - for more than I paid for it. While the 3G is definitely the better phone, it doesn't have the cachet of a 1st Gen product. Personally, I also think the 2G was a better design than the 3G (or 3GS) and if the leaked pictures of the 4G are to be believed the next iPhone is positively ugly. Similar story with the iMac - it's really only the current generation that approaches the original for design (although I did love the Anglepoise flatscreen iMac) I'm betting the iPad will be the same. Now, offer me the price I pay for it and I might be tempted.

I think the new iPhone (if those 'leaked' pictures are real) looks like a Smasung F490... Which I have used before and it's absolutely dreadful. The last time I used a phone that bad was the old one of the really old Motorolas.

Even Apple couldn't go back to an OS that ugly could they? The leaked pictures seem to show a second camera on the front - and it is a bit wider, but otherwise I agree with you.

I assumed the new OS would be the same as older iPhones, but mainly I meant the shape/design of it.
