I will be ordering my iPad on Monday 10th.
I am going for a wi-fi and still deciding between 32 & 64gb versions
Will anyone else be joining me?
What versions are people going for?

I'm still not sold on the iPad. I still can't really see the point in it beyond a novelty. It isn't a MacBook, but it's more than an iPhone... I haven't found anywhere this could fit in to my life. I might get one used in a few months if I can find a use for it.

The more I think about it, the iPad suits me perfectly, I don't need all of the functionality that a laptop would offer and I can't justify the price of a MacBook. I have my iMac and the iPad will be used for browsing, social networking and very basic iWork functions amongst other things.
I sit on my sofa at night and constantly use my iPhone, and occasionally taking notes and writing things down, which i have to type up later. The iPad will do all of this for me.
So I am quite excited to get one.

Despite the price, I went for the top model with 3G - if I hadn't I know I'd only wish I had. Rationale: 1. More storage for videos on the move, just in case. 2. With 3G, just in case I want network access, again whilst on the move. High premium to pay, I know.
I also went with an O2 SIM as this seems to be the only provider that will let you buy network access per day (£2/day). Orange and Vodaphone are options too, with Orange having double the bandwidth and free BTOpenzone access with the higher tariffs. They all have capacily caps. Unfortunately you're limited to one SIM per iPad - might have been nice to get alternatives, with it being PAYG, in case of coverage blackspots.

The only way I'll need one of them is for just sitting downstairs and wanting to use the internet. The times when I'll need it will be when I'm away from home, but then I'd have to get the 3G version, which is a lot more. Basically, for what I would use it for, I might as well just get an iPod Touch. I really, really want an iPhone though. Currently I'm looking for a cheap 2nd hand one so I can get a £10-per-month, 300 texts, unlimited internet SIM from O2.

I'm pretty sure I want one, but I've never pre-ordered a v1 product. I'll go down to the Apple store and play with one first. I was thinking of a WiFi only + MiFi option, but the MiFi costs at least £50 and the PAYG options aren't that attractive. For an extra £100 I could get the 3g and PAYG from £2 per day. But that's on O2 and the signal is really poor on the West Coast mainline. Orange is much better! Dilemmas, dilemmas.

I went for the 64Gb Wi-Fi version in the end. I also ordered the case and the camera connector kit. I really don't think the data plans offer good value for money at all. I will be purchasing a 3 Mi-Fi dongle, unlocking it, then using a t-mobile payg sim for my mobile broadband. see bit.ly/three_mifi_ipadIt creates a mobile hotspot and upto 5 devices can be connected to it.

and counting. I'm very excited. I have already purchased my 3 mi-fi dongle in readiness for my iPad. paid £69.99 and got 3Gb which is valid for 3 months. Will see how that usage lasts me.

Did you notice Jake the BBC commentator at the Monaco Grand Prix today flashing his iPad during interviews from a yacht in Monaco harbour?
I must say it did look good. I want one too. The iPad that is, although come to think of it I wouldn't mind the yacht too.

I am told that if you jailbreak your iPhone you can tether it to the iPad via WiFi very easily. I am tempted…

Got my delivery confirmation email today. Roll on the 28th.
Also, to comment on something I said earlier - it appears that Orange also now have a per-day option (£2, but with 300MB cap rather than O2's 500MB, if I remember correctly). It's possible to register online for this. Looks like Apple got an extra 20p for no reason too! SIMs are free from the network providers now! Orange also have a flat 5p per MB scheme (possibly scary when you add it up).
Links to these schemes/rates were provided in the delivery email.
