well done mr Cat. Now jailbreak that sucker!! Point one, that sounds really really scary. Point two, I can't see any point in so doing. The phone is one stellar piece of kit though. I am seriously gobsmacked at how easy it was to set up and at how much it does. Cat

My cable modem has died. They should fix it today. What I have found out though is that I can post and even do admin stuff right from my iPhone. In fact that is what I am doing right now. How cool is that?

The phone is one stellar piece of kit though. I am seriously gobsmacked at how easy it was to set up and at how much it does. It is an Apple product, after all. I was surprised when I got my first iMac in August last year that all that needed doing was taking it out the box, plugging it in, plugging in the mouse and keyboard, and go. No extra installations, no trial software, no hitches or complications... It just took me a while to get used to having the close button on the top left of windows instead of the right.

Do you actually use that? Most of the Mac users I know use keyboard shortcuts. Command+W to close the Window. Command + M to Minimise. Command + H to Hide. Command +Q to Quit

Command +Q to Quit I have my keyboard on a desk with a keyboard drawer and my mouse plugged into a USB hub. the cable is too short. The only keyboard shortcut I use often is Command+C or V, (Copy/paste) and occasionally Ctrl+Command+Eject to shut down the computer.

Short cuts I use a lot
Command followed by…
Q = Quit application W = Close Window R = To Reload a page when browsing P = Print A = Select All S = Save F = To access the Find command T = To open a new Tab when browsing. H = Hide application ZXCV = Undo Cut Copy Paste N = New finder window M = Minimise
Sometimes I Command Delete to delete a file.
One of the bug-bares of Windows for me was the stupid shortcuts they used. I could never remember them. They seemed to vary between applications too.

One of the things that I thought was better on Windows was that you could delete files by clicking them once and pressing Delete on its own.

One of the things that I thought was better on Windows was that you could delete files by clicking them once and pressing Delete on its own. I am not sure that it is much of an advantage. Don't Windows user mostly just right click to delete? Your average Mac user never has his hand far from the Command key as it is used so often and for so much. Oh, I nearly forgot one that I use ALL the time. Command + Space to call up Spotlight
