Hi, My names Terry, I've been listening to the podcast for ages, but only just got round to joining the forum. I've been using Macs since 1988, still have my SE and LC475, both still working (I think). Had a PC gap year (or 2, 3). But then decided that life must be better with a Mac, I've got the usual, iMac, Macbook, iphone and recently an iPad (which even after 4 months is still awesome). Anyway, the podcast is brill, I listen to it on my way to work, its perfect at 45 minutes as that's my journey time. Next step is to sign up for Britishmac Gold. Keep them comming,

Wow - that's quite a history. I had an LC475 (well, Performa 475 - same machine, different software bundle). It was my first Mac. With hindsight, it was pretty awful, but it got me started - and hooked. Until then I was Acorn all the way. Welcome, Terry
Tim

Hi all, my name is Andy, I live in Hampshire and have been a podcast listener since the 90's... Meaning the podcast edition number not the decade! I started as a programmer in 1986, writing machine code (well, assembler) for long lost processors like the 6502 and Z80, then when PCs arrived I moved onto those, developing software for those fab 8086 processors at 4.77Mhz with 16kb of memory! Ended up writing BASIC, C, COBOL and stuff like that until Windows took off and I lost interest in keeping my skills up! Since then, I've just been a computer user and gadget fan, bought my first bit of Apple kit some years ago, one of the first Mac Minis, and have never looked back. Currently using a 20" aluminium iMac, and an iPhone 4. Very much looking forward to this year's new products especially the iPhone 5 and iPad 2. My latest acquisition is a neat bit of kit by the way, a Mobee Magic Charger for the Apple Magic Mouse - basically a rechargeable battery unit which goes into your mouse, you then sit it on a very nicely designed base which inductively charges your mouse so your batteries are always topped up - no more taking AAs out of the remote! Not bad value at £40 either... clicky. I'm a policeman and the other day had to go into an office on enquiries, I walked in and they were all using Macs, it was a joy to see! I was so impressed with the kit I forgot why I was there Anyway that's about it, thanks Will for a great podcast, I've promoted it on my own forum so maybe you'll get yet more listeners, keep up the good work and Happy New Year to you and yours (if it's not too late ... wonder when it is too late? February? First time you see someone in the New Year? Anyway I digress...)

Hello all my name is Murray and I have been listening to the podcast since I bought my first bit of Mac kit in 2006. I have been in IT for 32 years mainly programming mainframe and midrange boxes using all sorts of languages. However those interesting days have passed and now I am using Windows, SQL and filling in forms for a living. The first bit of kit I worked on professionally was a Sperry Univac 9060 which was the size of a garage, booted off of a cassette and probably had less processing power than an iPhone.
I have to admit to having been quite jaded with computing by the mid-2000's until a friend suggested buying a Mac with the words 'you will have it up and running in less than half-an-hour'. He was right and my 2006 iMac was up and running in 20-minutes and what a sweet system OSX turned out to be. It does not matter how good the other manufacturers try to make their computers they are hamstrung by not running OSX.
Anyway thanks to Will for a cracking podcast and Happy New Year to you all.

Hello!
I've been listening to the BritishMac podcast for ages now but I've finally dragged myself down to the Pussycat Club to say hello.
Hello.
I gave in and moved to Mac almost by accident really. I was on holiday with my girlfriend doing a road trip around Northern California, one of the last stops of which was to stay with my uncle down near Santa Cruz. I had taken my HP laptop with me, which, very graciously proceded to have a full scale unrepairable motherboard death after the first couple of days.
Fortunately for us though the aforementioned uncle happened to work for Apple and the US Dollar was at a splendid low against the good old Pound so a new MacBook was duly acquired for an absolue song. Hoooraah!
Since then we have managed to buy an iMac and got through a few iPhones too, surely the iPad cannot be far away?
Anway, the podcast is brilliant, keep up the good work. Chin chin!!
James.

Hello This is the second time I've entered this as Firefox crashed on me. Well actually all I can say is that the first thing I wrote would have brought a tear to a glass eye. It was me moving from PC to Mac. You would have all been so touched by story of good trumping over evil that you would have all been better people for reading. Unfortunately it was all lost to Bug #3449712 in FireFox So for my summery British Mac has pipes No mention over iPhone not being available on horizon (What is that ) Mac Gold is class Cheers for the hello from "The Forum Cat". (Now spent even more money in the Apps Store) All the best NiceBeever

Hello one and all, my name is David and I made the no so difficult leap to Apple and Mac's. After listening to the British mac pod cast for about a year now I have subscribed to the 'Gold' pod cast (I cant help but think of Spandau Ballet every time I here Gold!) and think that it is worth every penny! I have finally made the jump and introduced myself in ye' old Mac and Mouse.
My first foray into the Apple world was with my trusty 3GS 16Gb which I still own today, I have thought about upgrading to the Iphone 4 but I'm waiting out for a new Ipad (not too far away if the rumors are true). Soon after first listening to the British Mac podcast I purchased a nearly new Mac Book (4.1) and I am having fun editing photos on Photo Shop and messing about with some samples from my friends band on Garage Band.
I am an engineer by trade and only wish there were more Cad/3D modeling software available for Mac's so I can have an excuse to by a iMac for work purposes!!
Keep up the good work with the Pod Cast and I'm really looking forward to the Video casts (hopefully it will teach me some new tricks and tips), the beta was a nice little test but do agree with everyone else about the mic.
...Chin, Chin
David from Gloucester

Hi all,
I am a long time listener. For my sins I am a Microsoft Certified Engineer, so to get away from work I only use Apple at home.
I own iMac, Mac Mini, iPad, iPhone and a good selection of iPods.

Hello,
My name is David. I've been using Macs since 1990 on a Mac IIx and Mac IIcx. I have an embarrassing collection, which you guys will probably be understanding about. I have a Newton, Mac Classic II, iMac G3, iBook G3, G4 PowerMac, several G4 Cubes (some for sale if you're interested), MacBook CoreDuo and my latest acquisition this month of a 13"MBP. Obviously iPhones and an iPad go without saying. (but I've said it)
I look forward to contributing towards the forum.
